Re: duty, VAT et al. to Western Europe/Germany?

I paid

US$ 348.74
+ EUR 58.40 Zoll
+ EUR 1.90 UPS-Gebühr

But, my fit-pc2 is worth every Cent ! My small Linux home server runs perfectly:

Code: Select all

root@server:~# uptime
 23:38:31 up 90 days, 1:17, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.03, 0.05

kernel 2.6.32-rc1

I just had a look on the first release candidate of the upcoming kernel 2.6.32. It now includes the wlan driver rt3090 needed for the fit-pc2 in the staging area. Still no psb/drm support in the kernel. It also includes the following new watchdog driver: CONFIG_SBC_FITPC2_WATCHDOG: This is the drive...

Re: rt3090 patch used in 2.6.28-34-fitpc2 ?

I have not tried rt3090sta from kernel tree, only driver from ralink website. Download kernel sources and patch from http://fit-pc2.com/download/ubuntu/dists/jaunty/source. Source code is under /drivers/staging/rt3090. ... The sources used in your 2.6.28 kernel are no longer compatible with 2.6.31....

Re: rt3090 patch used in 2.6.28-34-fitpc2 ?

... Can you see in dmesg about what driver from kernel tree complains? May be it can be easely fixed? I get the following in dmesg: root@server:~# dmesg | tail [128797.258792] ===>rt_ioctl_giwscan. 1(1) BSS returned, data->length = 163 [128907.261769] ===>rt_ioctl_giwscan. 1(1) BSS returned, data->...

[solved] rt3090 kernel 2.6.31: patch used 2.6.28-34-fitpc2

Hi all, I have managed to compile the current kernel 2.6.31 on my fit-pc2 (including drm/psb). I also patched the kernel with the rt3090 patch I found in the internet internet . This staging driver rt3090sta gets loaded, but the Gnome NetworkManager is not able to connect to my access point (WPA enc...

Re: 160GB harddrive

I would buy one without a hard drive like I did with the slim but I have one concern, the Diskless has only the slow processor and no WiFi :/ That's a nogo for me ... I am going to order it when it's available somewhere in the EU I have seen one vendor already accepting orders, who sells the diskle...

Aren't the models without harddrive equipped with SSD by default ? If not, that would of course be great.

Re: 160GB harddrive

I would be interested in the 500G model of http://www.hitachigst.com/portal/site/en/products/travelstar/5K500.B/ Are there any restrictions, that would hinder me using one of those drives? Probably not, but it does not make much sense to buy a machine equipped with a 160GB drive, then to buy an add...

160GB harddrive

Is it possible to order bigger harddrives for the Linux models, for instance 500GB ? Microsoft restricts the usage of their WinXP for netbooks/nettops artificially to 160GB, but that shouldn't apply to boxes sold without Windows licence... The fit-PC2 would be a very interesting machine as home serv...
