Re: Linux Mint 9 is officially supported
Thanks for making this installation available to us! I have a bit of experience to share: 1) In order to get resolution compatible with my monitor, I had to change my xorg.conf so the "Screen" section became: Section "Screen" Identifier "Screen0" Device "Card0" Monitor "Monitor0" SubSection "Displa...

Re: SDHC now supported, or just being accessed in SD mode?
Same here. I am using a Patriot class 4, 8GB SDHC card without issues.
Edit: I have a fit-PC2i running Ubuntu 9.10

Typo in 2.6.31-34-fitpc2 kernel module Kconfig
There is a typo in the diff you applied to your kernel source tree from the karmic repo: Look in linux_2.6.31-34.7.diff on line 379861 to 379864 There is a typo on line 379864. WLAN should be WLAN_80211 This modification was preventing the RT2870/3070 module from showing in the kernel configuration ...

Re: Fit-PC2i and Wlan not working with Ubuntu 9.10 (solved)
You can also get it working on Ubuntu 9.10 by blacklisting rt2800usb, so that the rt2870sta module is loaded. /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf Though, the kernel provided by fit-pc doesn't include this module, so you will have to use the generic kernel image provided by Ubuntu if you want this to work...

Re: Missing wireless card?
The wireless card was shown by lshw once the RT2870STA module was loaded. It now operates without issue.

Re: Ubuntu 9.10 and WLAN ?
Try to install linux image from our ubuntu 9.10 repo, rt3090 should work out of the box too. That is what I did originally. I've double checked and tried your image again (with rt2800usb blacklisted). No luck. So far, the RT2870STA module is the only one that has worked for me, and I suspect it wou...

Re: Ubuntu 9.10 and WLAN ?
For your custom fitpc2 kernel image, you should add the RT2870STA module in addition to the RT2860STA module for the fit-PC2i users. Thanks.

I did this.Denis wrote:Try to add rt2800usb to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf and reboot.
The computer boots up with no wireless device present.
Edit: I'm curious what was causing the rt2800usb module to be loaded.
