Re: Too low vertical scan frequency (57.9 Hz) with EIZO S2111W
Sometimes, some monitors don't give good informations to the X-Server. Maybe resetting the factory settings of the monitor (there's a menu for it on the monitor) could solve the problem ? On the other hand you could try with Ubuntu 9.04 ? http://www.fit-pc2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=768 Otherwis...

Re: External USB disk resets spontaneously.
Last try : did you choose GV3 instead of C-States in the BIOS ?
C-States hangs network on Linux, maybe it hangs USB too

Re: External USB disk resets spontaneously.
I haven't got a clue but I googled your error message ( reset high speed USB device ) and found this http://www.mail-archive.com/ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com/msg1668416.html Devices for the kit to the disc-Rules are disabled. The command is a console with administrator privileges: mv /lib/udev/rules...

Re: Ubuntu Server 8.04 LTS on Fit-PC2
My fit-PC2s hardrives are really silent. Nevertheless there isn't a lot of traffic on my servers. Since these hardrives are only 5400RPM 2.5'' HDDs, I guess the noise is the same than on laptops/notebooks for instance. I read that Compulab ship with 160GB Seagate or Samsung : http://www.fit-pc2.com/...

Re: Debian on a fit-PC2
I don't need any display driver becaus I want to build a Open SSH server. I thought that the kernel for fit-PC2 was just customized by Denis to manage display driver ? You neither need standard Canonical nor customized Compulab repository then ? Aren't the Debian's repositories as good as Compulab'...

Re: Ubuntu Server 8.04 LTS on Fit-PC2
For server stuffs, everything works like a charm on my fit-PC2s. The only point is the bad Video-3D management of the poulsbo chipset. But you definitely don't need 3D for a server use ... mathewfer : with a 20GB normal PATA Xtrmrider : I bought a 500go that is a little bit noisy ==> The standard no...

Re: How to boot Ubuntu 8.04 Gnome without a Monitor?
I've just tried the key combination on a fit-PC running Ubuntu 9.04 but it doesn't work  The key combination works on all my PCs running Ubuntu 9.04 but not my fit-PCs ! But they are running Ubuntu 9.04 though. So maybe it'll work with your Ubuntu 8.04 ? Otherwise try also : [CTRL]+[ALT]+[Backs...
