Dear all,
Few days ago I got a new diskless 1.6Ghz wifi fit-PC2 booting ubuntu 8.04 (the forum's image) from an usb device. It's booting fine - however, when the login screen should appear, the display (EIZO S2111W) is showing a too low vertical scan frequency (57.9 Hz instead of at least 59.0 Hz, referring to the display's manual) and a black screen.
Attaching the fit-PC2 to a friend's display (Hewlett Packard) everything works fine.
How can I fix this problem?
Many thanks in advance,
Alex

Re: Too low vertical scan frequency (57.9 Hz) with EIZO S2111W
Hello, I get a simliar problem with my Belinea 101920, I get an "OUT OF RANGE" message on the monitor.
You can have display with the vesa driver but it's very slow.
I tried to add correct VSync-HSync information in xorg.conf, but it doesn't help.
anyone can help ?
could it work with adding Modelines in xorg.conf ?
ps: I attached the result of ddcprobe, it may be usefull
thanks,
Richard

Sometimes, some monitors don't give good informations to the X-Server.
Maybe resetting the factory settings of the monitor (there's a menu for it on the monitor) could solve the problem ?
On the other hand you could try with Ubuntu 9.04 ?

Otherwise, I found this :
