I have a new monitor, purchased specifically for it's DVI plus VGA connectors, to support the Fit's requirement for DVI/HDMI.
Its default native resolution is 1440x900, a common resolution that is supported by my "regular" computer's display interface (now almost three years old). However, with the Fit, I am not being offered any options in wide-screen at all, including 16:9 aspect ratio. I've set to 1024 x 768, which is the highest resolution with values within the display potential, but the display gets stretched to the edges of the monitor, and is not particularly crisp (unlike the display from my regular low-grade computer). I can find no setting in the monitor to force the actual 1024 x 768 display, and no option in the Fit to enable 1440 x 900.
Advice?
Ron
Alternate resolution: 1440 x 900
Re: Alternate resolution: 1440 x 900
1440x900 is supported automatically in WinXP and through xorg.conf setting in Ubuntu.

Hmm. That may be, but it has not been offered as an option in the display configuration dialog. It was available for my other computer (running Vista), but did not appear for the Fit in the resolution slider. My assumption was that XP was displaying available resolutions for the display adapter in the Fit and that 1440 x 900 was not one of these.
I even went to the advanced settings and had XP display all available resolutions -- maxed out at 1280 x 1024.
It may be that the Fit is not auto-detecting the monitor, or some other problem.

Re: Alternate resolution: 1440 x 900
The problem you describe is typical of the default VESA driver. Please install the GMA500 driver from http://www.fit-pc2.com/download/xp-driv ... 1_1009.zip
If your display resolution is still not supported then it is a HW problem.

Idiot that I am, I had neglected to download and install the GMA driver. That, of course, solved my problem.
Thanks Irads.
