msata interface for SSD instead of mini PCIe for WiFi

Post by b1232416 »

msata is physically a mini PCIe connector but electrically SATA (instead of current mini PCIe for WiFi).

Having msata would allow mounting an Intel SSD 310 (SSDMAEMC040G2XX 40GB, SSDMAEMC080G2XX 80GB) at 150mW/75mW.

Thus having a high speed disk for os, swap, logging, etcetera; while having the 2.5" SATA slot available for a high capacity magnetic rotating hard drive.
